Backup & Recovery
When the worst happens, get back to work fast
Backup and recovery for UK businesses. Hardware fails, files get deleted and ransomware happens, so we make sure your data is backed up, tested and ready to restore, and a bad day never becomes a lost week.
What we protect
Microsoft 365: email, OneDrive, SharePoint & Teams
Servers and virtual machines
Laptops and desktops
Off-site copies of your data
Regular restore testing
A written recovery plan
Backup and recovery is designed around how quickly you need to be back up and running.
Are you sure you could recover?
Many businesses only find out their backup and recovery doesn’t work at the exact moment they need it.
“Microsoft backs up 365”
Microsoft keeps the service running, but deleted or encrypted data can still be lost.
“We’ve got a USB drive”
Local drives fail, get stolen or get encrypted along with everything else.
“Nobody’s tested a restore”
A backup you’ve never restored from is a hope, not a plan.
“How long would we be down?”
Without a plan, recovery can take days while the business stands still.
Why TeraHost
Backup and recovery that’s tested, not hoped for
Backup and recovery is one of those things every business assumes is fine until the day it isn’t. A server fails, someone deletes the wrong folder, or ransomware encrypts the shared drive, and suddenly the only question that matters is how quickly you can get back to work.
We start with a free backup review: what’s being backed up today, how often, where the copies live, and how long a full restore would really take. Then we put proper backup and recovery in place for Microsoft 365, servers and key devices, with copies kept off-site and away from your network using trusted platforms such as Datto.
Most importantly, we test it. Regular restore tests and a written recovery plan mean that when something goes wrong, there’s no guesswork: we know what comes back first, how long it takes and who does what, so your team can keep serving customers.

Common questions
Doesn’t Microsoft already back up 365?
Microsoft protects its service, not your data. Deleted items, ransomware and departed users’ files can still be lost without a separate backup.
How often are backups taken?
We set the schedule around how much data you can afford to lose, from daily to much more frequent for critical systems.
Can you help after a ransomware attack?
Yes. Clean backups kept away from your network are the fastest route back, and we’ll help secure your systems too.
What’s the difference between backup and recovery?
A backup is a copy of your data. Recovery is getting your business working again from that copy. Good backup and recovery planning covers both: what’s copied, where it’s kept, and how quickly each system can be restored.
Do you cover businesses outside Manchester?
Yes. We’re based in Salford and support businesses across Greater Manchester, the North West and the wider UK. Backups are monitored remotely, with on-site help when it’s needed.
How much does it cost?
It depends on what you need to protect, so we tailor it after a free backup review.
